Jeffrey J. McDougall, the President and principal owner of Oklahoma City’s JMA Energy Company, has been named chairman of the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association (OIPA). McDougall replaces outgoing chair Ronnie Irani, the president and CEO of RKI Exploration & Production, who completed his two-year term as association chairman this month. McDougall founded JMA in 1986 after receiving his bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa. In 2010, the University of Tulsa recognized McDougall’s continued commitment and support by naming its McDougall School of Petroleum Engineering in his honor. He has been a member of the OIPA since 1990 and previously served as the association’s Vice Chairman-West, Treasurer, Co-Chairman of the Federal Issues Committee and President of the Wildcatters Club of Oklahoma. The OIPA is the state’s largest oil and natural gas advocacy organization. Founded in 1955, it represents more than 2,700 members in the crude oil and natural gas exploration and production industry and affiliated businesses.
