JMA Energy founder assumes chairman’s post

New OIPA Chairman Jeffrey J. McDougall took the gavel from outgoing Chairman Ronnie Irani at the Annual Meeting in Las Colinas, Texas, in June.

“I’ve never worked for an oil and gas company,” McDougall told the crowd at the Chairman’s Luncheon. “I’ve only worked for myself.”

In 1986, McDougall was laid off from his engineering job at a drilling company. He went to work for a geologist, filing well log cards, knowing he needed to learn more about the industry.
