Geology Technician
Duties and Responsibilities
Create geological maps, cross-sections and displays using PETRA/Discovery software for all JMA departments and employees, related to drilling and production activities.
Update regional area maps regarding competitor and Corporation Commission activities and completions.
Data collection and assembly for geological evaluation by geologist or others.
Coordinate and provide information and instructions to loggers for distribution of data on all JMA logging jobs.
Maintain inventory and internal distribution of all incoming logs.
Construct and maintain outside prospect opportunities and files.
Preparation of maps/displays for packages, brochures, and other key meetings as directed by supervisor or Company officials.
Responsible for building and maintaining operated and non-operated geologic files, and converting paper to digital files for storage, preservation and archives.
Duplicate logs and maps as needed for proposed prospects as well as internal projects.
Order and maintain all Geology supplies and equipment. Negotiate with vendors and compile cost comparisons.
Compile and supply data for consultants in preparation of OCC hearings.
Maintain geologic log files and data system. File all logs and 1002B’s with Oklahoma Commission as required.
Job Specifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience. PETRA and Geographix or applicable software knowledge necessary. Proficiency in geological application programs and software, map plotters and printing, computer equipment, and Microsoft Excel.
